Product Description
Monofilament Polypropylene Surgical Suture is a sterile, non-absorbable medical sutures manufactured from an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene, a synthetic linear polyolefin. The monofilament construction ensures low tissue drag, reduced bacterial adherence, and smooth handling during surgical procedures.
The suture is pigmented blue to enhance visibility in tissue, enabling precise placement and secure knot tying. MELENE® is biologically inert, non-capillary and elicits minimal tissue reaction, making it suitable for long-term tissue approximation.
It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological surgeries. The suture is EO sterilized and supplied in aluminum foil packs, available with or without needles.
