Product Description
Polyglecaprone 25 is a high-quality monofilament synthetic absorbable surgical suture manufactured from a copolymer of glycolide and epsilon-caprolactone. The suture is non-antigenic, non-pyrogenic, and produces minimal tissue reaction during the absorption process.
Designed for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, MEGLYDE MONO® provides excellent tensile strength and secure knot tying while allowing smooth passage through tissue due to its monofilament structure. Absorption occurs through hydrolysis, with complete absorption within 60 to 90 days, ensuring predictable wound support during the critical healing phase.
This suture is widely used in general surgery but is not recommended for cardiovascular, neurological, ophthalmic, or microsurgical procedures. It is supplied sterile in aluminum foil packaging, with or without needles, to maintain safety and performance.
