Product Description
Braided & Coated Polyester Surgical Suture is a sterile, non-absorbable suture manufactured from poly (ethylene terephthalate), a high-molecular-weight, long-chain linear polyester with recurrent aromatic rings. The braided structure provides superior handling characteristics, flexibility, and knot security compared to monofilament sutures.
The suture is coated to enhance smooth tissue passage and reduce friction during suturing. For improved visibility in the surgical field, MEBOND® is dyed green (also available in white). It is biologically inert and elicits minimal tissue reaction, making it suitable for long-term implantation.
MEBOND® is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological procedures. Each suture is EO sterilized and packed in aluminum foil packs, with or without attached needles.
